Lai Mohammed, Joins Amaechi On Rail Projects Inspection

 Minister of Information, Culture and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at the weekend, joined his Transportation counterpart, Rotimi Amaechi on the inspection of ongoing railway projects in the Lagos/Ibadan.

The exercise which commenced at the Nigerian Railway Corporation complex, Ebute-Meta at exactly 7:40 AM drew a sea of heads largely from the Federal Ministry of Transportation and the Chinese Construction Engineering Corporation, the major contractor handling the project.

The inspection train is expected to leave Ebute-Meta to Apapa from where it would journey to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

ATLETICO MADRID RE-SIGN WINGER YANNICK CARRASCO FROM DALIAN YIFANG ON LOAN Atletico Madrid have re-signed Belgium winger Yannick Carrasco two years after he left for Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang. Carrasco, 26, returns on loan until the end of the season to Atletico, where he scored 23 goals in 124 games. He was at the club between 2015-2018 and scored in the 2016 Champions League final against Real Madrid. Atletico are fifth in La Liga, 10 points behind leaders Real, who they are away to on Saturday (15:00 GMT). NSCDC intercept 33,000 liters of adulterated diesel The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Cross River Command, said it has seized a truckload of suspected adulterated diesel containing 33,000 litres. The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Danjuma Elisha, who disclosed this on Thursday in Calabar, said that one suspect was arrested in connection with the incident. Elisha explained that the truck was impounded on Tuesday at the ‘Technical Junction’ in Calabar. “The suspect and the product were arrested for not having the valid papers to operate in the oil sector and at the same time, the product itself is suspected to be adulterated Automotive Gas Oil. “This kind of act is against our laws and regulations; this is an economic sabotage.
